What We Teach

Our lessons are suitable for children (aged seven and above) and adults at beginner to early intermediate levels. Subjects include:

  • Piano (ABRSM Grade 1–2 classical, as well as pop and rock styles)

  • Music theory and sight reading

  • Songwriting and original composition

  • Music production using Logic Pro and Ableton, including working with MIDI keyboards and DAWs

Teaching Approach

Lessons are structured to strike a balance between technical development and creativity. A typical session combines:

  • Music theory and reading skills

  • Practical performance and creativity

  • Personalised goals depending on the learner’s interests

For learners without instruments, I can advise on selecting a suitable keyboard or piano.

Lesson Format

  • Sessions last up to 50 minutes, with a 10-minute buffer between lessons.

  • Lessons are delivered in a comfortable home studio with parking available.

  • Online lessons are also available using professional equipment, including an online whiteboard for theoretical discussions.

  • Homework and practice tasks are set and tracked through Asana, a free platform that helps students monitor their progress.

  • A one-time 30-minute induction session is available free of charge. This allows us to set goals, discuss your needs, and get to know each other. No instrument is required for this session.

Availability

  • At present, lessons are available on Saturdays, with additional availability under review. Bookings can be made directly on the website or through the app.

Safeguarding and Professional Standards

  • I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.

  • The studio environment is safe and welcoming for young learners.

  • Parents are welcome to wait in the reading area or return at the end of the session.
